The Chronicles Of Narnia - Prince Caspian

The Poster

I love fantasy and animation movies!! I have already mentioned it before but no harm in another affirmation. Though many people consider that kiddish but I like losing myself for sometime, taking a respite from the real world in the world of magic and fairy tales. I admire the imagination of the authors who write such books and the screenplay writers & the directors who bring the pages to life. I watched the movie "The Chronicles Of Narnia - Prince Caspian" today and proceeded to write a review.

The Pevensie Kids- Edmund,Peter,Susan and Lucy

Sadly, the movie doesn't stand up to the reputation and expectations left by its 1st part "The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion,The Witch and The Wardrobe". Somehow it seemed to lack the magical lustre in it. The storyline seems to lose its pace. In fact it drags a little bit in between. But the visual effects especially the river coming to life are worth watching. And I like the British way of talking..crisp and clear not like the American drawl. Would have liked Tilda Swinton to have more role in the part-2. [In fact I had The White Witch as my profile snap before. What can I say...I liked the mixture of Power and Evil in a woman. :D :D] The soundtrack isn't so great as it usually is in fantasy movies like Harry Potter or the 1st part. Ben Barnes (Prince Caspian) is cute looking. And I like the Centaurs very much [would like to ride one someday or in some life..hmmm]. The part where many Narnians have to be left behind to die is touching. The mouse warrior is cute and funny. Overall a family entertainer and to be enjoyed on the big screen.

Sadly, It is out yet in this part of the world. I see pieces of it advertised on cable when I see it (I don't have, personally).
I have read the books and I think it would make a great movie.

The 2nd book is kinda boring, I liked the voyage of the dawn treader alot more...But I find myself saying that at all too many blogs recently...

But what can I say Reepicheep is the bomb! I love that little guy!

I dont think all americans have a drawl...only the southern ones...All americans do not have the same accent you know!

Anyway have a wonderful day!

I too wanted to watch this movie because I loved the first Narnia.

If you like mix of power and evil in women, then you must have liked Nicole Kidman in Golden Compass. Though I was disappointed in the movie...after so much of build-up about 'dust', you have to wait for the next part. Silly makers!

@Beth I haven't read the books so can't tell whether they have done justice to it.Hope u get to see it soon.

@Robert Yaa I was so amused when the killer in the grass came out to be a mouse!! Yes I know all Americans don't have same accent but some of the actors speak so unclearly that its hard to understand.Whereas in British actors I just dont understand Hugh Grant..rest r fine.

@Swathi..I LOVE "Finding Nemo"!!! Let me know how u found the 2nd part of Narnia

@Suda 2 comments? Let me know ur view about the movie

@Poonam..yup Golden Compass was like a preface or a prequel!! and i did like Nicole..no other character not even the girl was that appealing. Liked the idea of soul residing outside in an animal.

I am a bit of a book worm. But not having cable tv does that to me.

the makers of Prince Caspian kept to the original story surprisingly well... i heard they were going to make it into a silly pure-action flick, but thankfully this was not the case

I saw it last weekend, but had no time to write the review. :)
I liked it. Although it was a little slow here and there but overall it was good. I really liked the scene in which the 4 children are taken to Narnia from the station. And the ending was also good. Did you see Indiana Jones latest??
